NatWest is warning customers to “visit the branch” after “issues” with online banking apps and services

NatWest has apologized to customers after online banking services went down today. The leading bank spoke out on X, which used to be known as Twitter, after its online and mobile banking services suffered disruptions on Tuesday morning.

“We are aware that some customers are experiencing problems logging into the app and online banking,” NatWest posted on its “help” account on X. “This is being investigated with the highest priority.” On the NatWest website, a service status update later on Tuesday morning showed there had been a service outage for both the mobile app and online banking.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused and are working hard to get everything back up and running for you,” it said. “If you need to complete a transaction, you can continue to do so using our telephone banking service or alternatively visit one of our branches or ATMs.

“If you want to make a payment with us today, please consider sending money another way. You can still use your debit or credit card to make payments and get cash from ATMs, branches and the post office.” On Twitter, NatWest asked customers to send a direct message if they have a specific banking need.

Another update read: “Hello, the mobile app and online banking should now be working as expected. Try logging in as usual. Thank you for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused. If you have any other questions or need further help, then please let me know.”

It continued: “The app and online banking should now work as expected. Please try logging in as usual. Thank you for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please let me know.”
