The police descend on Printworks as a huge brawl breaks out outside the nightclub

Police were called after a huge brawl broke out between a group of teenagers outside a nightclub in Printworks.

The “large-scale fight” broke out outside the Cargo club in the entertainment complex on Withy Grove at around 8.50pm last night (Monday, May 27). The police were called to the “disturbance”.




A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said a group of teenagers were involved in the fight. An investigation into the incident is now underway.

According to ticket website Skiddle, an under-16 event was taking place at the Cargo club when the fight escalated into the street. The “Summer Pre Party” event was supposed to start at 5pm yesterday.

A Printworks spokesman said bosses would “work very closely” with Cargo “to ensure this type of event does not happen again”. In a statement, a GMP spokesman said: “At around 8.50pm yesterday (Monday 27 May 2024), we were called to reports of a disturbance at Printworks in Withy Grove, Manchester.

“It was determined that a group of teenagers were involved in a large-scale fight. Inquiries are ongoing at this stage.”

Dan Davis, center manager at Printworks, said: “The safety and experience of our guests is paramount and Printworks does not condone any form of anti-social behaviour. We will work very closely with Cargo to ensure that this type of event does not take place at its location in the future.

“As always, Printworks will be supporting GMP to assist with ongoing enquiries.”

Cargo has also been contacted for comment by Manchester Evening News.
