Kirklees man charged with rape and assault

A Kirklees man has appeared before magistrates charged with rape and assault.

Martin Sales (41) from Liversedge appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Monday 27 May charged with two counts of rape, one section 18 assault and two counts of theft.

The 41-year-old man was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court.

He had been arrested in the Hereford area on May 24.

Investigations into the offenses remain ongoing by Kirklees District Adult Protection Unit.
