Purley Chase Lane car crashes into tree as huge 999 response attends

A driver has been injured after his car crashed into a tree on the outskirts of Nuneaton. There was a huge 999 response to the collision near the Purley Chase Center on Purley Chase Lane in Mancetter.

Crews from Nuneaton Fire Station used trauma care equipment and made the vehicle safe. Medics, including West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) and Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, treated the driver.



A WMAS spokesman said the driver was taken to Coventry and Warwickshire University Hospital. “We were called to reports of an RTC on Purley Chase Lane in Mancetter, Atherstone at around 7.40pm on Sunday,” said the WMAS spokesman.

“An ambulance and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were sent to the scene where on arrival crews found a car had left the road and collided with a tree. The driver, a man, was already exiting the vehicle. and was treated for injuries not thought to be serious before being taken by land ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.”
