Leeds United missed out on more than £100m in broadcast deals as well as matchday and commercial revenue.

The Daily Mail claimed the club owed £189.7m in player installments ahead of this year.

The club’s recent accounts included an operating loss of £106, but this was offset by the sales of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.

Leeds could now be set for an exodus of players in this summer transfer window.

Crysencio Summerville, 22, is a player who has attracted interest in the Premier League.

The Dutch international has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, West Ham, Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Archie Gray is another breakout star who will have clubs in the ring.

Georginio Rutter and Willy Gnonto could also be set for the exit door.

On-loan ace Joe Rodon also impressed during his time at Elland Road before his return to Tottenham Hotspur.

The report also claims that former Chelsea prospect Ethan Ampadu could garner some interest from the top flight.

It is also suggested that selling star players would prevent the club from breaching profit and sustainability rules.

Football financial expert Kieran Maguire told the press: “I’m not in a brilliant position but it’s not a crisis.

“From a cash point of view, they have invested heavily in 2022-23 – the season they have gone down.

“A lot of their spending since coming to the Premier League has been on structured deals, which is the norm. Don’t write a £50 million cheque.

“But it means there’s a lot on their existing credit card. They need to reduce their balances before they can start spending again.

“In terms of profitability, they have lost £36m in 2022 and £34m in 2023, so £70m this season.

“The wage bill will go down (in the next set of accounts) but TV money is also down significantly even with the parachute payments.

“In terms of the sustainability of the club, the 49ers are pretty solid owners.”
