One year ago today (May 28, 2023)… Former Deadwood actor Brent Sexton is suing Apple LLC, alleging the company dropped an offer to have him star in a new series because he refused to takes the coronavirus vaccine for medical reasons, costing nearly $600,000.

Sexton’s Los Angeles Superior Court disability discrimination lawsuit seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages. An Apple representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the lawsuit filed Monday.

Employees of Apple and retail stores did not have to be vaccinated against the coronavirus if they underwent the necessary tests, but Apple Studios “trampled on the rights” of those who worked for the Los Angeles subsidiary that produces content for the new streaming service of Apple, Apple. TV+, the suit says. Anyone who worked on an Apple TV+ production was required to obtain the photo and submit proof, the lawsuit states.
