Crysencio Summerville ready to leave Leeds United this summer

Aston Villa and Newcastle United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Crysencio Summerville as he is set to leave Leeds United.

According to a report from Football Insider, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are both looking to strengthen their attack ahead of next season and have their eyes set on Crysencio Summerville. The Dutch international has been in sensational form this season and both Premier League clubs are keen to sign him

While Summerville is an integral part of Leeds United’s first team, he has no intention of continuing at the club for another season. With the Dutchman looking for a move away from the club, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have both received a boost.

Crysencio Summerville’s time at Leeds United

Summerville arrived at Leeds United in the summer of 2020. He started with their Under-21 team and within a year was promoted to the first team. The 22-year-old has come a long way in recent years.

The former Dutch youth international had an exceptional 2024/25 season. He played in 49 matches and contributed to 31 goals. The youngster found the back of the net on 21 occasions and even made 10 assists.

The former Feyenoord youth product has been a standout performer for Leeds. Despite his performances and the team’s efforts, they failed to return to the English top flight. Even 90 runs in their 46 outings was not good enough.

At the start of the season, reports suggested that failing to get promotion could have huge financial consequences for Leeds United. They will have to sanction quite a few sales to balance their books. With the 22-year-old among their high-value assets, he could command a significant fee from his departure.

However, Summerville’s likely departure won’t just be due to the need to raise funds. The player wants to try a new challenge elsewhere as a result of their failure to gain promotion and there is no lack of interest.

Newcastle, Aston Villa passionate about the Dutchman

Leeds United value him at around £35-40m, a figure Newcastle and Aston Villa could look to pay to lure him to their club. The Magpies are looking to strengthen their squad following a disappointing campaign and feel Summerville could be the right fit for them.

Aston Villa have done wonders under Unai Emery and are looking to strengthen their attack as they prepare for Champions League football. They feel the Leeds striker’s versatility and ability to cause panic in opposition defenses could be of great use to them.

With the player looking to leave, Leeds United needing cash and two Premier League clubs keen on his signature, Summerville’s future is one to watch out for.
