Currys’ cheap dig at Leeds United ‘Falling Apart Again’ goes viral

An X post by Currys went viral after he took a dig at Leeds United, with around 2 million users seeing the joke.

It all started when Shaun (@LfcShaunjudge) posted on X – formerly known as Twitter – a joke about Leeds United not getting into the Premier League. It comes after a disastrous Championship play-off final saw Leeds lose 1-0 to Southampton on Sunday 26 May.

Shaun posted: “Absolutely disgusted with Currys… Just bought a new 75” TV to watch the Premier League next season but it came without Leeds…”

Currys replied: “I’m sorry we had a recall, they just kept falling apart” – a joke referencing the decades-old football song “Leeds Are Falling Apart Again”. It was sung by football fans at the misfortune of Leeds, as the club were relegated from the Premier League in 2004 and then again from the Championship in 2007.
