In Taylor Swift’s favorite places in London

With just a week until Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour lands in the UK, excitement is building.

The Shake It Off singer will be on stage at Wembley Stadium in June, performing her hits for those lucky enough to get their hands on tickets. But it is unlikely to be all work and no play for the American star, who has been known to take in the sights of the capital on previous visits.

So where might he be headed when he’s in town this time? We take a look at some of the star’s favorite London locations.

Swift spent a lot of time in Crouch End during her long romance with actor Joe Alwyn, as she had her own property there. They are rumored to have settled there together in 2020 amid the lockdowns caused by the coronavirus.

Afterwards, the pair were reported to have headed to celebrity-studded Primrose Hill, renting a luxury six-bedroom house not a million miles from where the singer’s ex-flames Harry Styles and Tom Hiddleston both lived.

The singer was said to be fond of walks on Hampstead Heath when in the UK, often managing to go incognito while wandering around.

Swift – who is no stranger to writing music about her love life – made a mention of it in her track So Long, London, which is on her massive new album The Tortured Poets Department and is believed to be about Alwyn.

Includes the line “I left everything I knew, you left me at the house next door to Heath”, an apparent reference to Heath. No one seems to know which house he might be referring to, but some fans think it could mean Swift and Alwyn shared a property there when they split in 2023.

Some people suspect that Swift may have even taken a dip in Heath’s cold pond at one point, as in her 2019 song Paper Rings, she sings, “When you jumped in first, I jumped in too . I’m with you even if it makes me blue.”

Swift named a song from her new album The Black Dog, apparently after the pub in Vauxhall. In the song, she mentions a love interest – believed to be Alwyn – and sings: “And so I watch you walk/Into a bar called the Black Dog/And you punch new holes in my heart.”

The name check sent Swifties flocking there in droves, with event manager Lily Bottomley telling the BBC the response was “amazing”.

The pub now offers burgers and cocktails themed around the Cruel Summer star. Bottomley said it had all been “so much fun”, adding: “All the attention has been quite overwhelming but we couldn’t be happier.”

Rumor has it that Swift herself frequented the pub when she was based in the UK, but no one knows for sure.

Taylor is said to be a big fan of a low-key kebab shop in Kentish Town and even appeared in the video for 2017’s End Game.

At the time, the store’s Mahmut Ciniviz told the Camden New Journal what the star was getting into. “Taylor went for the shish – and the rest of the film crew also tucked into our kebabs,” he said after the video was shot there. “He asked for chilli sauce and lots of salad.”

A person previously said on TikTok that the star used to appear there often with her boyfriend at the time, again believed to be Alwyn. “The guy who works there said she actually came way before the video because it was her boyfriend’s favorite and she was so pretty,” they said.

Swift was spotted last year enjoying a night out at Laylow Fashion in London.

She was with a host of fellow A-listers including Cameron Diaz, Stella McCartney and Sacha Baron Cohen at the nightspot, which features a restaurant and live music.

The Notting Hill restaurant is known for attracting a creative crowd and big stars such as David Beckham and Madonna have apparently been seen there in the past.

Built in 1585 by two Spanish brothers, the wood-panelled Spaniards Inn on Hampstead Heath was said to be Swift’s favorite when he was with Alwyn.

The pair are believed to have visited the pub a few times as it was close to where they lived. Swift reportedly donned a black wig to ensure she could enjoy her food and drink without being seen by anyone.

The singer is known to have stayed at the Savoy, the latest in a long line of celebrities to stay at the luxurious five-star hotel.

She also did a photoshoot for Vanity Fair in Beaufort Bar, and one of her lavish apartments can be seen in the End Game video.

The chart-topper gave nods to plenty of places in the capital in her 2019 track London Boy, sharing her love of Brixton and Shoreditch.

And she also revealed that, like countless other 30-somethings, she also enjoyed a weekend stroll around Camden Square. “I love walking around Camden Market in the afternoon,” she sang, possibly appreciating that the crowds made it easier for her to browse unnoticed.
