‘Play with fire’ ultimatum given to Yorkshire drug dealer

A Bradford man who was jailed after a huge drug bust has been ordered to hand over £22,500 or face more jail time.

YorkshireLive reported in September 2022 that Razwan Hussain, 32, and his brother Kamran, 34, had both been jailed after police seized 12 kilograms of crack cocaine and heroin from a property in Hoxton Street. The February 2022 haul of drugs was said to be worth more than £600,000 and the brothers were jailed after they both admitted charges of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Razwan Hussain was jailed for nine years and six months, while Kamran was jailed for eight years and four months.

Razwan Hussain appeared at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday for his final hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act, and Judge Ahmed Nadim, who jailed him, was told the parties had now agreed a confiscation figure.

Hussain claimed his only benefit from the crime was to have a £6,000 drug debt written off, but today defense counsel and the prosecution agreed a benefit amount of £22,500.

The money, which amounts to Hussain’s equity share in the Hoxton Street property, will now have to be handed over within the next three months or he will have to serve a further nine months in prison.
