Queen Camilla recently professed her love for Netflix hit Bridgerton while visiting a garden inspired by the Regency-era drama at the Chelsea Flower Show. Despite being an avid reader, Camilla is not one to shy away from popular serials and soaps.

At an event in 2022, she hinted that she had been watching Netflix’s The Crown when she jokingly suggested her “fictional alter ego” Emerald Fennell, who plays Camilla in the show, could finish her speech for her. As well as Netflix dramas, the Queen is said to be a fan of British TV show Coronation Street, often bingeing on episodes when she retreats to her home in Wiltshire.

While the Royal Family boasts an impressive array of official residences across the country, Camilla retains her private home in Wiltshire, which she purchased following her divorce from Andrew Parker-Bowles in 1994.

This residence is renowned as Camilla’s favorite hideaway where she can escape the royal spotlight and spend time with her grandchildren. Last year, it served as the backdrop for portraits taken by the Princess of Wales to mark Camilla’s 75th birthday, reports OK!.

After divorcing her first husband, Andrew Parker-Bowles, Camilla bought Ray Mill in Wiltshire for £850,000 and lived there full-time from 1996 to 2003. Conveniently, it’s just 15 minutes from drive from King Charles’ treasured home, Highgrove.

Camilla’s stunning abode boasts a number of impressive features, including a lush outdoor swimming pool, a terrace perfect for summer days, stables ready for her beloved horses, extensive gardens and even her own river. It was the venue of choice for Camilla’s daughter Laura Lopes, who celebrated her marriage to Harry Lopes with a reception there in 2006.

The residence is cherished by Camilla as her sanctuary, where she can relax comfortably away from royal protocol. A source told the Express how the Queen enjoys her free time at Ray Mill: “At Ray Mill she can sit with a big GandT, kick off her shoes and watch Coronation Street, which Charles hates.”
