‘Potentially Grand Designs’ Cornwall clifftop bungalow in stunning Porthcurno location to be auctioned

A remarkable clifftop property above one of Cornwall’s most stunning beaches is set to go under the hammer. The little cottage will be familiar to the millions of visitors and visitors to the famous Minack Theater over the years.

Now the almost gravity-defying one-bedroom bungalow perched above Porthcurno Beach will be sold to the highest bidder. It will appear at auction with a seemingly low – though certainly not ‘affordable’ – guide price of just under £400,000.

Clive Emson Auctioneers say Porthscylla is a one bedroom cottage style detached property set on the cliffs near the famous Minack Open Air Theater in an area featured in the popular TV series Poldark. It sits on approximately 0.78 hectares (1.94 acres) of predominantly cliff land, with a flat area towards the top offering potential for formalisation.

Porthscylla has a freehold guide price of more than £395,000 in Clive Emson Auctioneers’ latest sale, which ends on June 12, when 174 lots go under the hammer.

Senior auctioneer Katie Semmens said: “This is an extremely rare opportunity to purchase a cottage style bungalow in a truly stunning location overlooking picturesque Porthcurno Beach. With stunning views, it adjoins the famous Minack Theater in an area that has featured in popular TV. the Poldark series.
