Eamonn Holmes is reportedly left bewildered and confused following the announcement of his split from Ruth Langsford. The presenter claims he had no prior knowledge of the situation.

The former This Morning hosts revealed their split over the Bank Holiday weekend in a joint statement, but a source close to GB News presenter Eamonn told Mail Online that Eamonn was “furious and confused” by the sudden public declaration. The source said: “He literally found out about it very shortly before it was published, talk for hours.”

The source claimed the statement was actually “written and approved” by Ruth and her team. Eamonn has since spoken about the situation on GB News, the Express reports.

Appearing alongside co-host Isabel Webster, Eamonn said: “Before we go any further, we’d just like to thank people for their support for me and Ruth over the last few days with the news of our split. Your support for both. it is very much appreciated by us.”

Ruth has yet to comment on her split since the statement was issued. Before their split was confirmed, fans of the pair began to express concern about their relationship in recent weeks after noticing Eamonn’s absence on Ruth’s social media.

The presenter’s last post with her husband was in April. One asked: “Where is Eamon these days when we’ve never seen you together?”

A second said: “I thought the same!?” A third mused: “He’s out of the picture these days… even more so.”

According to an inside source, the pair have been living separately since she left this morning. They told The Sun: “Their relationship changed when they left This Morning.
