West Ham are set to sign goalkeeper Wes Foderingham from Sheffield United

West Ham United are close to agreeing a deal for goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.

The 33-year-old will leave Sheffield United when his contract officially expires at the end of June.

Foderingham made over 100 Championship appearances during his four-year spell at Bramall Lane after joining from Rangers in the summer of 2020.

The former Swindon Town and Rangers goalkeeper played 30 times in the Premier League last season but failed to prevent the club from suffering relegation back to the Championship.

New West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui wants to sign an experienced third-choice goalkeeper following the release of 23-year-old Joseph Anang.

Last season, Alphonse Areola was the number 1, with Lukasz Fabianski in his place. Lopetegui wants to make four signings before he officially begins his role on July 1.

Flamengo defender Fabricio Bruno could be the first addition. Nothing is finalised, but a deal that would see the 28-year-old move to the London Stadium for an initial fee of £13.5m plus add-ons and sign a five-year deal.
