Alliston teenager charged with careless driving after Bradford crash

The collision happened around 7:30 a.m. on the 11 line near 10th Sideroad

No one was injured but a teenager has been charged following a two-vehicle crash in Bradford this morning.

South Simcoe Police, Bradford Fire and Emergency Services personnel and Simcoe County Paramedics were called to the scene of the collision on May 29 around 7:30 a.m.

The incident occurred on Route 11 near 10th Sideroad.

Photos from the scene show a car on a front lawn and a minivan in a ditch, however, no injuries were reported.

Police say both vehicles were traveling eastbound at the time. The van then attempted to turn north and the car approached and allegedly tried to pass it but struck it in the rear passenger side bumper.

“The impact sent the first vehicle into the ditch and both vehicles’ airbags deployed,” police spokeswoman Isabella Soligo said in a news release. “Both vehicles could not be driven.”

A 19-year-old Alliston man was charged with careless driving.

Police warn that penalties for such an offense can include fines of between $400 and $2,000, up to six demerit points, a driver’s license suspension of up to two years and up to six months in jail.
