Passengers at UK’s ‘busiest airports’ warned ‘there is a plan to target you’

People flying out of Britain’s “busiest” airports this summer have been warned “there is a plan to target them”. Eco-activists want to cause mayhem over the holidays in a few weeks as they plan to target terminals and runways, according to GB News.

Just Stop Oil will target airports including Heathrow and Gatwick at the height of the summer rush to cause maximum disruption. “This will be an absolute nightmare for the aviation industry,” an aviation expert warned GB News.

“The disruption caused will not only severely affect people’s holidays and travel plans, it will cost airlines and airports many millions of pounds in lost revenue. But the most worrying aspect of this direct action is the decision of these activists to break the perimeter fences or access the air doors to cross the airport runways.

“By their very nature, the flight area environment of any busy airport is extremely active and extremely dangerous, with constant aircraft movements around the airfield. Whatever their motivation, this direct action is deeply wrong, as these activists will not only put themselves at risk, but also members of the traveling public and airport staff.”

Just Stop Oil’s Phoebe Plummer reportedly warned of “disruption on a scale never seen before” at a meeting attended by an undercover journalist. The group has been critical of the airline industry over its carbon footprint.

She said: “The most exciting part of this plan is that (it will) be part of an international effort. Flights operate on such a tight schedule to control air traffic that, given that actions are being provoked in cities around the world, we are talking about radical, ignorable disruptions.”

She added: “It’s time to wake up and get real – no summer holiday is more important than food security, housing and the lives of your loved ones. The flight is also a symbol of the gross inequality of wealth that plagues our society, and if we want to create change we need to adopt a more radical demand.”
