CMHA Champlain East Mental Health Promotion Manager Chantal Tessier noted that the net proceeds from the all-day meals were donated to the cause: supporting community and school mental health.

Tessier, in remarks at Au Vieux Duluth, said the sponsor’s generous support is vital for CMHA to continue its expanded community programs and services.

“Funds raised directly support our educational programs and mental health initiatives right here in our community schools,” she said.

Tessier gave a shout-out to restaurant owner Alex Paradis, saying “(his) partnership is invaluable and we deeply appreciate his enthusiasm for our cause.”

The event ran from late morning to early evening and included an auction and lots of volunteer support, with about 30 people, including students, helping out at the restaurant on Brookdale Avenue.

CMHA Champlain East celebrated Mental Health Week in early May last year with events including an energetic gathering under sunny skies and pleasant conditions in the courtyard next to city hall, a 90-minute gathering that highlighted different ways people can improve mental health with activities. such as dance, art making, storytelling, movement and music.
