Willy Caballero, Danny Walker – Meet the backroom staff Enzo Maresca could bring to Chelsea

Chelsea are closing in on appointing Enzo Maresca as their new head coach, with the Italian set to make the switch from Leicester City.

Maresca has been with the Foxes for just one season but led them straight back into the Premier League at the first attempt, winning the Championship title along the way. His crisp style of play is one thing that has caught the attention of Chelsea bosses.




The Blues are said to pay around £9million in compensation to Leicester for the move. But there are also negotiations over other members of staff who are expected to join Maresca at Stamford Bridge.

reports Fabrizio Romano that Chelsea will pay compensation for staff leaving Leicester. He adds that “at least” five assistants will be part of the backroom staff at Maresca’s club.

Willy Caballero – assistant manager

A name that will be most familiar to Chelsea fans, the goalkeeper officially hung up his gloves last summer to join Maresca as assistant manager at Leicester. The Argentine spent four years as a player at Stamford Bridge, making 38 appearances for the club.
