Lazio Join Juventus and Napoli in the race for Manchester United Outcast

Lazio have reportedly joined the queue for Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood, which also includes the likes of Juventus and Napoli.

The 22-year-old has been one of the promising youngsters to emerge from the Red Devils’ academy in recent years. But after establishing himself as a regular starter at Old Trafford, the Englishman’s career has been on hold for 18 months due to legal issues surrounding his personal life.

However, Greenwood managed to get his career back on track thanks to a positive loan spell at Getafe. He contributed 10 goals and six assists in all competitions, attracting the interest of a host of admirers across Europe.

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Lazio have now entered the fray for the winger who is set to leave Man United. The England international could be a direct replacement for the departed Felipe Anderson, who mainly plays on the right flank.

The journalist claims that the Aquiles have already contacted intermediaries in the last few hours to inquire about the situation. The report also states that Lazio president Claudio Lotito had already tried to anticipate competition for Greenwood since January, but the conditions were not there to complete the deal.

However, Lazio will face stiff competition for the player’s services as Juventus and Napoli are also courting the talented striker. And besides Serie A clubs, the source also mentions fans from Germany and Spain. The player’s contract with the Red Devils is set to expire in 2025, so he could be available for a cut price.
