PSG are ringing up a move for Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté

While Ibrahima Konaté (25) is happy at Liverpool FC, even despite the departure of Jürgen Klopp, the Frenchman has just two years left on his contract. He is seen as a potential opportunity for many clubs in Europe, including Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from L’Équipe.

Konaté’s contract extension talks have been ongoing for several months. Liverpool remained optimistic to reach a positive result. Konaté himself wanted to wait until the end of the Premier League campaign before deepening talks and a meeting between player and club will take place soon, according to L’Équipe.

These talks will be closely watched by many clubs in Europe. PSG, who are in the market for a centre-back, have not made a direct approach for the former RB Leipzig defender, but intermediaries have made it known that PSG would be interested in acquiring his services. Les Parisiens especially as the versatility of the French international.

Asked by Channel Plus last year, Konaté had this to say about a potential move to the Parc des Princes: “Could I imagine myself wearing the red and blue of PSG? If I said no, I’d be lying, but if you ask, is that one of my goals? Not at all.” Any move for Konaté will be a long shot for PSG with the player happy on Merseyside.
