Who is Daniel Jarvis? The YouTube prank behind the BBC porn scandal

YouTube prankster Daniel Jarvis, better known as Jarvo, has claimed responsibility for sabotaging the BBC’s coverage of Liverpool’s FA Cup tie against Wolves on Tuesday night (January 18).

The pre-match coverage was interrupted by sexual noises early in the programme, with host Gary Lineker and guest pundits Paul Ince and Danny Murphy ignoring and discussing it.

Lineker could only blush as boos continued throughout the segment until the BBC One presenter handed over the commentary team at Molineux.

Lineker tweeted before kick-off that the cause of the problem had been found – someone had fixed a phone to a piece of furniture.

The sabotage was attributed to Jarvo, who uploaded a social media post demonstrating his entrance into the studio before the game began.

Jarvis appears to have set the phone to a ringtone that plays pornographic sounds during the pre-game interview before calling the phone while live from an unidentified location.

But who is Jarvo?

Daniel Jarvis, better known as Jarvo, is a notorious prankster and YouTuber who hails from the Kentish town of Gravesend.

The prankster started his YouTube channel Jarvo69 aka BMWJarvo 14 years ago and has amassed over 55 million views where he shares his pranks and parody-themed videos.

He has done many pranks in the last two years. The BBC prank is not his first and it seems that it will not be the last.

He disrupted sporting events, mainly through pitch invasions. Last year, when Real Madrid and Liverpool were playing in the Champions League, he raided the pitch.

Jarvo managed to shake hands with Casemiro, Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale, as well as hug goalscorer Vinicius Jr.

Previously, Jarvo was able to sing the national anthem with the New Zealand rugby team. In addition, he was on the cricket ground at Headingly and was in close proximity to Jonny Bairstow.

As a result, he was given a suspended sentence, an eight-week prison sentence which was suspended for two years, as well as a two-year ban from entering any venue where a sporting event was being held in England or Wales.

The YouTube star was also given a 12-month travel ban and ordered to take part in rehabilitation activities.
