EFL rivals trial Leeds United’s 19-year-old, out of contract this summer – Report

Leeds United U21 international Keenan Carole recently had a trial with Sheffield Wednesday ahead of the expiry of his contract.

The Whites’ youth teams have caught the eye this season, with the under-18s preparing for the FA Youth Cup final on Friday, while several youngsters have caught the eye of Daniel Farke.

Some of them will not end up making a senior appearance at the club, but their talent is clearly valued at Championship level.

Leeds youngster Keenan Carole is on trial at Sheffield Wednesday

The Star reported this week that Leeds teenage winger Keenan Carole has been put on trial by Sheffield Wednesday.

Carole, 19, is out of contract after completing his first professional contract in the summer of 2022, tied to an initial two-year deal in the process.

The winger is the son of former Leeds man Sebastien Carole but is set to leave the club when his contract expires, with the Owls leading the chase to sign him.

He played 70 minutes in the Owls’ 2-1 win over Ipswich Town U21s last Friday, where Leeds target Mason Cotcher was on trial recently.

Ian Poveda is also on the Sheffield Wednesday radar

Carole is not the only winger the South Yorkshire outfit are tracking from Elland Road, with plans afoot to keep Ian Poveda at the club on loan.

Poveda joined Wednesday in January on loan for the final six months of his Leeds contract and became an instant hit with Hillsborough fans, now eyeing a permanent deal offer under Danny Rohl – according to the same outlet as above.
