3 players from Red Bull clubs in the middle of a big problem

Leeds United enter a new chapter in their ownership with Red Bull taking a minority stake in the club.

Leeds United have a tough summer ahead as they look to raise funds through player sales, but a lucrative multi-year partnership with new interested parties and shirt sponsors Red Bull will help their finances.

Unlike the company-owned clubs, the Whites’ name and logo will remain the same. However, this has the potential to be a fruitful partnership.

Red Bull clubs often transfer players between the two, so although not fully owned, Leeds United could still benefit from the strong link.

That said, here are three players from Red Bull clubs who could be great additions at Elland Road…

Lewis Morgan – New York Red Bulls

In the United States, Scottish striker Lewis Morgan became a star actor.

After trading Inter Miami for the New York Red Bulls in 2021, he scored 27 goals and six assists in 58 games while playing as a forward or winger. This season, he has nine goals and three assists in 15 MLS outings.

The former Celtic and St. Mirren is now 27, but as a prolific option both out wide and through the middle, he could be well equipped to impress with Leeds United after a spell in America.

Samson Baidoo – RB Salzburg

Centre-back is an area Leeds United will be looking to add to in the summer transfer window and they could do a lot worse than turning to RB Salzburg in their search for a new star.

Baidoo, 20, has been on the rise in recent years after coming up through the ranks in his native Austria and looks to be a player capable of playing top-flight football for years to come.

He might not be the cheapest with three years left on his contract, but before the top clubs start to bid, Leeds United would be wise to use their new Red Bull links by making a move for the talented defender .

Tim Meyer – RB Leipzig

Last but not least, it’s a slightly different option as young left-back Meyer actually leaves the Red Bull set-up. His contract with Leipzig expires this summer and will not be renewed.

However, having learned his trade and produced impressive performances in academy football, the 19-year-old could be a very smart addition in a position that the Whites will need to add to.

Meyer can play anywhere on the left and has managed five assists in 18 league games this season. At such a young age, he may be one for the long haul, but Daniel Farke could really turn him into his ideal defender.
