Body found in search for missing Warwickshire woman

A body has been found in the search for missing Warwickshire woman Elizabeth Jones. The sad news was confirmed by Warwickshire Police this evening.

Officers said a body was found in Gloucestershire today. Elizabeth, known as Liz, was reported missing on May 24.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious. Police expressed their support for Liz’s family. An appeal was launched earlier this week to find Liz, 59, of Salford Priors, Alcester.

A spokesman said: We are sad to report that the body of a woman has been found in Gloucestershire today (Thursday).

“Officers from our neighboring force were called to Temple Power after concerns were raised.

“Official identification has yet to take place but the body is understood to be that of Elizabeth Jones – known as Liz – who was reported missing to us on May 24.

“Her death is currently not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.

“We would ask that you avoid speculation and respect the privacy of Liz’s friends and family.

“Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.”
