The 37-storey Manchester student tower has been approved




The scheme is Manner London’s first developer in Manchester and will retain much of the old cotton mill’s existing brick exterior.

A 37-storey brick-clad tower incorporating student accommodation will rise from the old mill building. The lower floors of the mill will be occupied with commercial space.

Designed by architects Hodder + Partners, the scheme is scheduled to begin construction in early 2025, with completion. set for May 2028.

Procurement for the main works contract, which is expected to cost around £80m, will start next month.

The scheme includes a new public square and improvements to the public realm for the wider community.
