West Country horror car-lorry crash has left two women dead

Two women have tragically died following a crash in Somerset. The collision, which left the A361 near Frome closed for most of the afternoon on Thursday (May 30), involved two cars and a lorry, Avon and Somerset Police said.

Emergency services were called to Marston Road at around 3.10pm after a silver Ford, a black Land Rover and a lorry collided. Both the driver and passenger, both women, in the Ford car were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer, a police spokesman said. “Our thoughts are with them,” they added.
