Outpouring of support from Yorkshire for police officer dragged under car in ‘failure to stop’ chase.

Yorkshire Live has been inundated with messages and well wishes for a police officer who was seriously injured after being ‘dragged under a car’ in Leeds this afternoon (May 31).

A video shared online showed the horrific moment the police officer was dragged under the car as they tried to approach those inside. The car, a Seat Ibiza, was stopped by West Yorkshire Police’s road policing unit in Selby Road after a short pursuit after it “failed to stop”.

The officer has since been taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The occupants of the vehicle, who initially did not stop for the police, were arrested.
