Man arrested during crackdown on illegal driving in Coventry

Police have arrested a man in a crackdown on illegal driving and off-road cycling in Coventry. Officers from WMP Traffic hit the city’s streets on Tuesday (May 28).

Officers arrested a 28-year-old man from a car on Yewdale Crescent in Potters Green. He was charged with disqualified driving and remanded in custody to appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (May 29).



Officers also patrolled ‘hotspot areas’ including Wood End, Stoke and Wyken. Officers issued a number of traffic tickets and penalties for various offences, Coventry Police said.

A Coventry Police spokesman said: “We know dirt bikes and anti-social driving are a problem in Coventry, so we are working with teams across the force to crack down on this. We have several operations planned in the next two months.
