A proud glow to celebrate Pride month

Today, the council proudly raises the rainbow Pride flag on the Perceval House building to mark the start of Pride month.

And have you noticed that the Ealing Council logo looks a little different too?

On social media channels and digital billboards throughout the neighborhood, you’ll see the colorful alternate logo with the council’s motto modified to represent its mission to progress not just with unity, but with diversity and pride.

Love and friendship

Pride Month in June is dedicated to celebrating LGBTQI+ communities around the world. Pride is a celebration of people coming together in love and friendship, to show how far LGBTQ+ rights have come and how in some places there is more to do.

“The fight for equality is at the heart of Pride,” said Peter Matthews and Anna Elliott co-chairs of the council’s LGBTQ+ equality group. “As well as celebrating our LGBTQ+ friends, colleagues and neighbors this Pride month in Ealing, it is important that we all stand in solidarity, knowing that we cannot afford to be complacent.

“The council has a diverse workforce serving a diverse community and the opportunity to celebrate this diversity and the work we do to make Ealing a more open and inclusive council is so important.”

Throughout the summer, the neighborhood hosts some fantastic community and music events, including:

Saturday 15 June – 11am–5pm – West London Queer Project Pride Picnic at Walpole Park, Mattock Lane, Ealing W5 5EQ.

Sunday 21st July – As One Festival, showcasing some of the brightest emerging music and arts stars in London’s LGBTQ+ scene across four stages – Walpole Park, Mattock Lane, Ealing W5 5EQ. Tickets £20. Visit the website.
