Emmerdale’s Ella Forster secret has fans branding entire village ‘hypocrites’ as confession heard in full

Emmerdale viewers have hit out at the entire cast – branding the villagers ‘hypocrites’ after Ella’s shock murder confession in tonight’s episode.

As viewers of the ITV show will know, ever since Ella first appeared in the Dales, it’s been clear she’s been hiding something. In last night’s episode, Ella’s sinister secret was revealed as she attended June Phillips’ funeral.

For most of the service she had watched from afar, but once she thought everyone had left, she went to June’s grave and hoped she would find peace. Then he burst into tears and apologized in the grave next to June.

Things then took a turn when Liam turned up hoping to offer his support to Ella, but she was nowhere to be found. Then a man approached him and asked him why he was there. As Liam tried to explain that he was with June’s daughter, the man attacked him and said that June’s daughter was dead.

As she ran away, the man shouted at her that she was trash before branding her a murderer and child killer. Liam gaped as he glanced at the mysterious headstone, which bore the name of 11-year-old Joanne Phillips.

In tonight’s episode, Ella admitted to Liam that she killed her best friend when she was 11 and has already served a prison sentence.

Elsewhere, Leyla found an online news article about Ella killing her friend in a “jealous rage” and shared it with the villagers of Woolpack – who were shocked to learn about her past.

When Liam kicked Ella out and she entered the pub, the rest of the villagers had already rallied against her, telling Ella they were now ‘scared’ of her presence – but Cain offered to listen to her story.

Ella told Cain that she had a difficult childhood and home life with a drug-dealing father and an absent mother. At school, the other kids didn’t want to be her friend because she “smelled” – until one day Joanne offered to play with her. Ella became close to Joanne and her mother June, who gave her an insight into the childhood and family life she had missed.

Ella continued to tell Cain that it took until one day when Joanne said that her own friends would never see her again if she continued to be friends with Ella. She said: “I lost it, we both ran and were pushing each other. He ran and fell and got up, then ran and fell again. I was on top of her and I was hitting her head on the ground over and over, we were both crying, until she stopped.”

Emmerdale viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to brand the judging villagers – including Leyla, Tracy and Charity – ‘hypocrites’. @RyanTheSoapking tweeted: “Love Ella on her feet! Half the people in that village are capable of much worse, and there are so many hypocrites. #Emmerdale.”

@Pongo81575019 said: “Tracy putting her foot down for Caleb is in no position to judge #emmerdale.”

@EmperorMendoza wrote: “Considering the people in the pub judging Ella for killing her friend (probably accidentally), this is the worst group of people judging #emmerdale.”

@nat_1983 added: “Fear the Emmerdale villagers for knocking Ella down and judging her before they hear her when most of them bang someone from #emmerdale.”
