Appointment of Enzo Maresca Chelsea LIVE – Deal agreed, contract details, backroom staff latest

Maresca had a long playing career, mostly in Italy, Spain and England.

He spent time at West Brom (yes, West Brom), Juventus, Bologna, Fiorentina, Sevilla, Malaga, Palermo, Sampdora and Verona, among others.

He then jumped into coaching, becoming assistant manager at Ascoli before moving to Sevilla in several non-playing roles.

In 2018, he joined West Ham as assistant manager to Manuel Pellegrini before moving to Manchester City as academy coach, leading the under-21s to a Premier League 2 crown.

He had a brief spell as Parma boss that ended horribly before returning to City to be Pep Guardiola’s right-hand man.

He then took over at Leicester and the last 12 months have been history.
