The former Leeds United goalkeeper was offered to Inter Milan after losing his starting place at Udinese

Udinese goalkeeper Marco Silvestri has been offered to Inter Milan.

This according to the Italian news station FCInterNews. According to the publication, the former Leeds United goalkeeper is likely to leave his current club after losing his starting place and would cost very little.

At the moment, the Inter goalkeeper’s situation is changing for next season.

On the one hand, Yann Sommer is virtually certain to stay. The former Bayern Munich veteran was the first choice goalkeeper for the season just passed, the performance is a role very well.

And as for the third-choice role, FCIN anticipates that there is no doubt that Inter will extend Raffaele Di Gennaro.

The 30-year-old made his first appearance for Inter off the bench on the final day of the season against Hellas Verona.

Di Gennaro made some fine saves in the second half of that match.

And the third-choice goalkeeper has been a positive presence in training and in the dressing room throughout the season.

However, the question of who will be the second-choice goalkeeper next season seems to be a really important one.

FCIN report that Inter have no intention of signing Emil Audero permanently with the 27-year-old’s loan from Sampdoria set to expire.

Rather, Audero appears to be heading for a move to newly promoted Como.

So the question now is who Inter will decide to sign as Sommer’s back-up for next season.

FCIN confirm that Inter’s main target is Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento.

The 24-year-old is a player that the Nerazzurri consider ideal. They want to back Sommer next season – and then succeed the Swiss international long-term.

However, Bento is not the only option.

FCIN note that Filip Stankovic will return to Inter this summer after his loan spell at Sampdoria last season.

And the press anticipates that he will be part of the Nerazzurri team in the preseason.

Like last summer, Inter manager Simone Inzaghi will want the chance to watch Stankovic in pre-season.

And FCIN anticipates that it is not impossible for Stankovic to take over the backup role to Sommer next season.

Meanwhile, there is also the possibility that Inter could exploit another opportunity in the transfer market.

One has already been presented, the outlet report.

Former Leeds and Hellas Verona goalkeeper Silvestri is at Udinese from the summer of 2021.

However, after being the clear first-choice goalkeeper in his first two campaigns with the Friuli, Silvestri lost his place.

Maduka Okoye has become Udinese’s first choice goalkeeper.

Therefore, Silvestri is prepared to find another club. And FCIN report that the 33-year-old’s representatives have called Inter as a possibility.

Of course, Silvestri would only be a backup goalkeeper for the Nerazzurri.

However, the veteran’s shot-stopping ability and Serie A experience could make him an option.

Silvestri is out of contract with Udinese at the end of next June. Therefore, the Friulians would be willing to sell it for a small fee.
