Large fire broke out in Redruth industrial area | News

Fire crews from all over the area intervened in the incident.

The fire service tackled a fire on Cardrew Industrial Estate in Redruth this morning.

Crews from Tolvaddon, Hayle, Perranporth and Falmouth, Truro, St Just, St Austell, St Columb, Helston and St Mawes were at the scene, arriving at around 7.30am.

The incident involved 3,000 pallets and five shipping containers catching fire. The fire then spread to a single-story building containing cylinders.

The public was asked by firefighters to avoid the area due to the large plume of smoke.

Just before noon, firefighters reported that they were down and crews were leaving the scene. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
