Croydon man accused of murder named Nasen Saadi – Inside Croydon

Nasen Saadi, 20, from Croydon, was due to appear at Poole Crown Court today charged with murdering Amie Gray on a Bournemouth beach on May 24.

Crime victim: Amie Gray, 34, was murdered on Bournemouth beach last weekend

Dorset Police charged Saadi with Gray’s murder and the attempted murder of another woman on Durley Chine beach.

Saadi was arrested in London on Wednesday and was flown to Bournemouth yesterday for interview by specialist detectives.

Dorset Police say two locations in Bournemouth are being forensically examined and searched and that “searches were also carried out at two addresses in the Croydon area”.

The second woman who was attacked remains in hospital.

A teenager who was arrested on the night of the attack has been released without charge.

Superintendent Richard Dixey said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of Amie Gray, as well as the woman who was seriously injured, and they are aware of this latest development in our investigation.

“This matter has been the subject of extensive investigation and we have now consulted with the Crown Prosecution Service who have authorized charges of murder and attempted murder.

“This means that the case will now be the subject of active legal proceedings and it is vital that the justice system is allowed to take its course.

“It is also important to emphasize that there should be no further comments or sharing of information online or on social media that could prejudice these legal proceedings.”
