Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Gordon admission, Van den Berg drops bombshell, shocks Arsenal idea

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has responded to links with a move from Paris Saint-Germain. He insisted his focus was on the Reds – but admitted the links were “logical” because of his family links to the club.

“Ah, I saw that (link to PSG), leave me alone!” Konate laughed on RMC’s Generation After podcast. “I’m French, hearing that PSG is interested, fine, but that doesn’t make me hot or cold, because I have” I didn’t have a conversation with them or anyone.

“I am focused on the pitch and the Euros. I don’t even think about it. I’ve got two years left on my contract, I’m happy at Liverpool, so my head is there.

“It makes a bit of sense because I was born in France and in Paris. I have six older brothers and all six support PSG I think, at least four or five.

“We watched a lot of games together, they already brought me back to the stadium when I was younger before I went to the training centre.

“There is a little story with PSG, but I did mine, where I played at Sochaux and then at Leipzig before Liverpool, so I’m happy.”
