Severn Stars secured their place in the Netball Super League semi-finals with a 61-56 away win over the fifth-placed side. Leeds Rhinos.

Sigrid Burger scored 49 goals as the visitors earned victory to seal a top-four finish and stay within reach of their hosts in the table.

Friday, The Bath team could not mark their last Super League home game with a win as they were beaten by them Strathclyde Sirens 57-50.

The win for the Sirens was their first of the season amid excitement for the home side as the five-time Super League champions were not included in the relaunched Netball Super League (NSL).

Addressing the home fans, Bath head coach Asha Francis said: “I really appreciate each and every one of you.

“To all of you who have supported us through thick and thin, ups and downs, we certainly couldn’t have done any of this without you and we are so grateful to have the best fans in the league.

“We really hope that despite the decision that has been made, you will continue to watch netball and that netball will continue to thrive in the South West and we will come back bigger and stronger.”
