He was charged with the murder of her wife, Amie Gray, and the attempted murder of a second woman, Leanne Miles.

‘Loving mum’ Amie, 34, was killed in the horror attack on Durley Chine beach in Dorset at 24:42 on May 24.

The fatal stabbing shocked the country, with police arresting the alleged stabber on Tuesday.

Leanne – aged 38 and also from Poole – was also taken to hospital after suffering serious stab wounds and has since been discharged.

Saadi, from Croydon, dressed in a gray hoodie and trousers, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.

He did not enter a plea to the two charges and was remanded in custody.

Saadi was arrested at an address in Croydon, south London, on Tuesday.

Detectives from Dorset Police obtained a court extension to interview him before charging him with murder and attempted murder on Friday night.

After charging Saadi, Inspector Richard Dixey of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Squad said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of Amie Gray and the woman who was seriously injured and they have been updated with this latest development in our investigation.

“This matter has been the subject of an extensive investigation.

“The case will now be the subject of active legal proceedings and it is vital that the justice system is allowed to take its course.

“It is also important to emphasize that there should be no further comments or sharing of information online or on social media that could prejudice these legal proceedings.”

Dorset Police also said there would be “enhanced” patrols over the weekend and in the future.

Assistant Chief Constable Steve Lyne said: “I would like to thank our communities in and around Bournemouth for their support and patience in what I know will be a distressing week for many.

“Our thoughts remain with the family of Amie Gray and the survivor of the incident at Durley Chine Beach on Friday 24th May 2024.

“The closure of the beach around China Durley will affect many locals, visitors and businesses and we do not underestimate the inconvenience caused as a result.

“Many police officers and staff have not only been involved in the investigation over the last week, but have maintained a highly visible presence in the town to answer any questions that local residents may have and try to be as accessible as possible at a given time. increased concern.

“It has always been our intention to keep our communities as quickly and efficiently as possible throughout the week, both through local media and face-to-face when on patrol.

“I appreciate that the public want and indeed should receive information to alleviate fears and concerns. This is balanced with maintaining the integrity of a highly complex investigation that has moved at a pace throughout the week.

“We hope that Dorset Police has struck that balance to maintain public trust as much as possible, while accepting that there is still significant work to be done with partners across the city to ensure that public safety is maintained as a primary concern.”
