Queen ‘gave Meghan Markle a dressing down’ after ‘inappropriate’ comment.

The late Queen Elizabeth has reportedly taken Meghan Markle aside after she was reportedly “unimpressed” during a food tasting event ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry. The former Suits actress expressed her displeasure as she sampled dishes for her 2018 wedding and it’s claimed she didn’t hold back her feelings.

Now the Duchess of Sussex is said to have become “very upset” after claiming she could taste egg in one of the prepared dishes. A royal author describes the situation, saying Meghan was told there was no egg on the plate but remained unconvinced.

Meghan is said to have retorted: “No, I can taste it.” Royal author Katie Nicholl told Yahoo’s Royal Box about the alleged incident, claiming Queen Elizabeth II intervened.

She claims the late monarch, who died in 2022, entered the room at Windsor Castle and “quietly took Meghan aside”, the Mirror reports. The Queen is alleged to have told Meghan “The Royal Family don’t talk to people like that”.

The alleged comments resurfaced following Nigeria’s First Lady’s response to perceived criticism of Meghan during the Sussexes’ visit to Nigeria last month. Reports suggest that Oluremi Tinubu slammed Meghan for dressing indecently while giving a speech at an event celebrating President Bola Tinubu’s first year in office.

Nigeria’s First Lady has since rejected these interpretations. She made it clear that her comments were primarily directed at young Nigerian women.

Moreover, the television station that filmed the speech rejected the idea that Tinubu criticized Meghan. Tinubu’s office clarified that the remarks – quoted following a video circulated on social media – were misinterpreted.
