Liam now heads to Cardiff for the second night of the tour on Monday and fans are sure to be excited at the prospect of hearing these early Oasis songs, some of which are being performed live by Liam for the first time.

He had promised the people of Sheffield they would “blow their minds” at the concert and judging by the reaction of the thousands there, they were not disappointed. Liam previously said of the tour: “The most important album of the 90s, I wouldn’t be anywhere without it and neither would you, so let’s celebrate together.”

Oasis fans had hoped the band – including songwriter Noel Gallagher – would reunite this year for the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe. But it didn’t happen and instead Noel’s brother Liam sings songs from the album. Noel left Oasis in August 2009, saying he could no longer work with his younger brother Liam after a series of fights. The Gallagher brothers’ last live concert together was in Paris in 2009.

Formed in Manchester in 1991, Oasis have had eight number one singles, including Some Might Say and Don’t Look Back In Anger. At their peak they played two legendary concerts at Knebworth for 250,000 fans. The debut album Definitely Maybe was an immediate critical and commercial success in the UK after it was released on 29 August 1994. It sold 8.5 million copies.
