Crysencio Summerville Next Club Odds: Chelsea New favorites for Leeds Star

© PA

Crysencio Summerville missed out on promotion with Leeds, but top bookmakers still expect him to be a Premier League player next season.

A minor player in the top flight last term, Summerville have stepped up to the game in 2023/24 and were named Championship Player of the Season in April.

No Leeds player can better his 20-goal return and only Georginio Rutter (16) has produced more assists than Summerville’s nine.

Despite a brilliant campaign, the 22-year-old Dutchman’s season ended in disappointment at Wembley, where Leeds were beaten 1-0 by Southampton in the Championship play-off final.

Summerville is unlikely to want to spend another season in the second tier and United chairman Paraag Marathe recently revealed there will be “compromises” during the transfer window to comply with the Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

Leeds reportedly owe other clubs around £190m in transfer fees, so it’s clear the club need to balance their books after missing out on promotion.

Where will Summerville practice at the start of next season? We can reveal the latest odds offered by betting apps below.

London Calling As Chelsea Considers Swoop

Chelsea’s chaotic campaign ended with five straight wins to secure a sixth-place finish, but the club’s American patrons will hardly be satisfied with Europa Conference League football next season.

Mauricio Pochettino left the club by mutual consent after the final and is set to be replaced by Leicester boss Enzo Maresca, who is fully aware of Summerville’s talent, having played in both of Leeds’ wins over the Foxes this season.

Todd Boehly and his consortium have paid more than £1billion for new signings during their time at Chelsea and must be careful not to breach the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

The Blues fielded a young squad last season and could stick with their policy of bringing in young players in the summer transfer window.

Summerville, 22, fits the bill and football betting sites have slashed the odds from 3/1 to 6/4 Chelsea bringing him to Stamford Bridge in the next few months.

New Reds Era could lead to Summerville signing

Liverpool’s new era under Arne Slot is underway and it remains to be seen which positions the Reds feel they need to strengthen.

The club’s new manager may be familiar with his fellow Dutchman, even though Summerville left Feyenoord a year before becoming their head coach.

Liverpool fans will also be familiar with Summerville, who scored a last-minute winner at Anfield in Leeds’ dramatic 2-1 win in the 2022-23 season.

The Reds already have plenty of strikers on their books, but Slot may still want more options at the top of the pitch, with Luis Diaz reportedly a target for the Saudi Pro League.

The Merseysiders were 6/4 a week ago to sign Summerville, but those odds have since dropped to 10/3.

Spurs and slide villa

Tottenham were favorites in this market at a price of 5/4 but now they are done 8/1 with UK bookmakers.

Ange Postecoglou’s side missed out on Champions League qualification and the Australian will be keen to strengthen his squad in the summer, including in attack.

Tottenham could do with a wide player who excels in one-on-one situations and Summerville would be perfect from that perspective. The fact that he can play on either flank would also appeal to Spurs, although he does his best work on the left.

With Aston Villa qualifying for the Champions League for the first time and Unai Emery recently signing a new five-year contract, it’s clear the good times are back.

Villa will need to add more quality to their squad ahead of another season full of struggles on two fronts, just as they did in the 2023-24 campaign when they reached the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.

Villains were 4/1 to capture Summerville when the market was first created but have since moved on to 9/1.

Magpies, Eagles And Hammers Outsiders

West Ham replaced David Moyes with former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui at the end of the season.

The Spaniard prefers a 4-3-3 formation and is not seen as an attack-oriented coach, preferring a game based on possession and slow preparations.

Whether Summerville fits Lopetegui’s plans remains to be seen, but the Hammers are 10/1 bag it in the summer – same price as Newcastle and Crystal Palace.

Like Chelsea, the Magpies must be wary of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules. They may need to sell before they can buy this summer, which is one of the reasons why they are strangers to signing Summerville.

Palace Improvement In The Frame

Crystal Palace have made huge strides under new manager Oliver Glasner, who have produced a superb run of form after winning six of their last seven matches, including wins against Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester United and Aston Villa.

The Eagles tend to look like a mid-table side when Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise are injured, although whether they are still at Selhurst Park next season is open to doubt.

Summerville would pose more of a threat to a team that could do well next season if they can keep their star duo.

Fulham and Bournemouth have also been linked with a move for Summerville and are 14/1 with new betting sites to attract the flying dutchman.
