Leeds United will continue to restructure the club under the 49ers as further investment from outside parties continues to come in.

The 49ers were serious in their attempts to get Leeds back into the top flight this year but missed the final hurdle with a play-off final defeat to Southampton.

It leaves them and Daniel Farke with another rebuild on the cards this summer as transfers will once again be vital to what Leeds achieve next season.

Leeds are looking to hire a highly experienced ‘Senior Data Analyst’ this summer

The Jobs In Football website has a handful of Leeds United-based online listings that the 49ers are hoping to fill soon, it seems.

One of them that stands out is that of “Senior Data Analyst” – a job that has been listed since May 12 on the website.

The job description says Leeds are looking for these key roles from anyone who applies:

Own the design and implementation of automated data analysis / visualizations / reports that provide fast, better than publicly available tools, information on player performance, player development, game tactics and results, manager performance and trends, etc. These tools should be “beautiful evidence” that conveys crucial insights in an efficient and multi-layered way, but not too complex, and will certainly include custom-developed data visualizations beyond what can be generated with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.

Proactively work with various internal and external parties to design intelligent ways to use data to understand and inform the game of football (this role will not be required to be the sole or final authority on data science or model design).

Be responsive to various internal stakeholders in providing ad hoc data analysis and user support/education. Serve as an analyst, educator and trainer providing insight into issues as needed. This will require listening, communication and project management skills beyond simply developing reports or analyses.

Will Leeds be promoted next season?

Leeds are turning to data-driven recruitment for transfers this summer and beyond

The appointment of Jordan Miles as head of recruitment already signaled that the club was focusing more on modernizing its approach to scouting and recruitment.

The focus is now on the data aspect of signings, which should open many more doors on players who are available and worth looking at – Brighton being the perfect example of unearthing gems that many sides might not have looked at.

With this Senior Data Anaylst position available, it looks like Leeds are leveling their recruitment structure from the aging efforts of Victor Orta, largely responsible for what the club did in the transfer market – and look how it worked for us.

It’s exciting to see the club heading in a much better and solid direction, making smart hires in all areas to turn the club into a real Premier League entity, not just one that thinks it has a right to be there without leave work behind. – the scenes.
