Royal Enfield 650cc India bikes to launch in second half of 2018 » MotorOctane

Royal Enfield’s new 650cc bike Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 will not be launched in April 2018 in India. We will be among the first markets, but not the first. April 2018 was the tipped date that was announced for the launch of these bikes. But, big giveaway, it will only be released in the UK and Europe for the first time. The bikes will be manufactured in India but will be launched in these markets first. RE will get it in India but in the second half of 2018.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor and Conti GT 650 are based on a new platform and come with two-cylinder engine. This engine can reach speeds of 160 km/h, which is the average cruising speed on most European and American highways.

Royal Enfield has designed and developed this bike at its satellite center in the UK. The company is gearing up to make an entry into the North American market with this new motorcycle. Current bikes aren’t powerful enough to give it a break. This will be the company’s first make or break situation. Royal Enfield has also prepared an ABS version of the Himalaya, which will also be exported to the European market. This new bike will add to the sales figures.

The company is currently looking to add more markets and reach more countries. This 650cc engine was designed primarily for developed markets. India is the company’s home and largest market. They cannot neglect the domestic market and it will be aggressively priced. The bikes will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Chennai and exported to other markets. Even Bajaj does this for KTM and TVS for BMW.

Both brands will make their way into the Indian bike market.
