Leeds United have agreed one of the most lucrative sponsorship deals in EFL history as they brought in Red Bull as a minority investor and shirt sponsor.

Leeds’ plans for the future are solely focused on returning to the Premier League as soon as possible – unfortunately for the 49ers, who were dismissed a year after their Wembley defeat.

One thing in Leeds’ favor next season is that they will still be in a much stronger financial position than most of the division.

Kieran Maguire gives Leeds financial details behind Red Bull deal

Helping to increase Leeds’ influence with their Championship rivals was the new deal with Red Bull to see them become minority stakeholders and the new shirt sponsor.

Financial expert Kieran Maguire has since been able to provide a key insight into the matter, saying the club are getting themselves a very good deal for the EFL.

He spoke to i News:

“A good Championship shirt sponsorship deal is normally half a million pounds.

“Looking at the three relegated teams, Leeds are the biggest fish in the Football League pond.

“This indicates that they can reach a deal with a global name with the intention of returning to the Premier League as soon as possible. And then I think we’re going to see some significant progress.”

Are you happy that Red Bull have invested in Leeds?

Could Leeds be looking at the hugely lucrative future income from the PL?

Not only is this deal being praised by the club now for the way it helps them escape from the Championship, but also for what it promises for Leeds in the future.

Maguire shares that Leeds planned ahead with this sponsor, knowing that the gambling sponsors would be out of the game in 25/26, and landed themselves a very lucrative deal with a global brand in the process.

He continued:

“It could also be argued that Leeds have an eye on the future as we know that gambling advertising partners will cease in 2025-26. Finding someone new by partnering with Red Bull early provides a degree of certainty going forward.

“You’re not going to get a deal with an organization as big as Red Bull unless Red Bull is confident you’re going to be at the top level. It’s a vote of confidence for Paraag Marathe and the rest of the executive team at Elland Road. It allows 49ers investments to recoup some of their investment if they sell some of their stock to RB.”

Leeds have huge financial backing from Red Bull, which is waiting to see if it grows

One thing that cannot be debated about Red Bull’s current involvement is that they will be a massive benefit to the club in financial terms.

Leeds have a sponsor that tops everyone in the league now and that will reflect on the club’s overall financial position.

The 49ers are making moves across the board that befit a Premier League club and which will hopefully reflect on the field in the near future.
