Liam Gallagher reunites with the Oasis star live on stage on the first day of the tour

Two members of the band’s original line-up, Liam and Bonehead, returned to the stage to mark 30 years since the iconic album, performing hits from their iconic 1994 debut.

Liam Gallagher reunited with Oasis guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs for a triumphant start to his Definitely Maybe Anniversary Tour.

The duo delighted fans at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena with a string of hits from their 1994 album, as well as some rare B-sides.

The stage was also full of references to the Definitely Maybe album cover, including a giant globe, green plants, a giant Burt Bacarach album and giant white birds.

After the gig, Liam said on X, ex twitter: “Sheffield you were and always will be BIBLICAL, go easy LG freaks.”

And Bonehead simply added, “Thank you Sheffield.”

Oasis fans had hoped the band – including songwriter Noel Gallagher – would reunite this year for the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe. But it didn’t happen and instead Noel’s brother Liam sings songs from the album as well as some rarely performed B-sides.

Noel left Oasis in August 2009, saying he could no longer work with his younger brother Liam after a series of fights. The Gallagher brothers’ last live concert together was in Paris in 2009.

Formed in Manchester in 1991, Oasis have had eight number one singles, including Some Might Say and Don’t Look Back In Anger. At their peak they played two legendary concerts at Knebworth for 250,000 fans.
