Dick Strawbridge’s son hints at who will inherit the incredible Escape to the Chateau home

James Strawbridge has hinted at who will inherit his father’s incredible Chateau Escape.

Dick Strawbridge and his wife Angel bought the sprawling French chateau in 2015 for around £280,000. They, along with their children Dorothy and Arthur, then invited Channel 4 viewers along for the ride as they documented their epic castle transformation.

Dick’s firstborn, James, 40, and Charlotte, 38, are from his first marriage to British engineer Brigit. Which child will eventually inherit the castle has been a hot topic for years, but James has finally revealed that it will fall to his half-siblings in 2022.

At the time, James told the Express: “When you go to the castle, the renovation work is quite fast compared to when you’re looking at a house with 500 years of history.

“It’s definitely more intense at the castle than these houses I’m visiting (for my new series). Arthur and Dorothy’s great-grandchildren many years from now and as one of the next generations will probably have it a little more relaxed. atmosphere.”

He also said that Dick and Angel were still in the process of “setting up” the castle in the Neo-Renaissance style.
