Watch Liam Gallagher send a message to brother Noel as his Definitely Maybe tour kicks off in Sheffield

Liam Gallagher sent a message to brother Noel as he kicked off his Definitely Maybe tour in Sheffield.

Liam, 51, is on the road this summer to mark the 30th anniversary of his Oasis album Definitely Maybe. The tour will see Liam perform the Oasis album Definitely Maybe in its entirety for the first time, along with some choice B-sides from the era. Liam kicked off the series of shows at the Utilita Arena Sheffield on Saturday night.

Of course, after their much publicized fallout, Liam’s brother Noel Gallagher will not be appearing on the tour – barring any unexpected appearance. Unsurprisingly, Noel was a no-show at the Sheffield venue on Saturday.

Although, Liam sent a short message to Noel. Before singing lead vocals on Half The World Away for the first time, Liam said: “This one goes to my brother.” Noel is known for singing The Royle Family song.

The gesture appeared as an affectionate nod to fellow celebrity Gallagher. Despite their famous Oasis-fallout, Noel regularly appeared on the big screen during the Saturday night show in nostalgic clips.

Fans were full of praise for X’s Half The World Away tribute. One fan @J_Semps posted: “Liam dedicated Half The World Away to Noel in Sheffield tonight. Brilliant.”

While @TomShucksmith said: “Liam Gallagher singing Half The World Away wasn’t on my 2024 bingo card that’s for sure! #oasis.” Another fan @Barrymccarthy wrote: “No surprise Liam would absolutely destroy Half The World Away.”
