Man banned from all shops in Coventry city centre

A fraudster has been banned from every store in Coventry city centre. Luke Campbell can’t go to any shops or businesses in the town center or walk down Far Gosford Street.

The 34-year-old, of no fixed address, was also banned from entering or going to any student accommodation. He also can’t go anywhere in Hillfields.

The two-year Criminal Behavior Order (CBO) comes into effect after he completed an eight-week prison sentence. This after he was caught on CCTV using a number of stolen bank cards at shops in the city.

The cards had been stolen from a number of vehicles in the Hillfields area last month. He was arrested on Wednesday (May 29) and magistrates jailed him for eight weeks for fraud the following day.

The CBO was also agreed to in the court process. Speaking afterwards, Chief Inspector Daryl Lyon said: “This is an excellent result, not just for us as a police force but also for businesses in Coventry.

“By restricting the movements of criminals and banning them from certain areas, we are able to take quicker action to arrest and charge them if they are involved in crime. This in turn helps us keep businesses safe and keep persistent criminals off the streets. for longer.”
