A64 closed live as serious crash closes road ‘for several hours’

The A64 will be closed for several hours following a serious crash this morning.

North Yorkshire Police have closed the main A in both directions following the serious crash at West Heslerton, near Pickering.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes if heading in this direction. The accident happened at 11.12am between St Hilda’s Street in Sherburn and Low Moorgate, Rillington.

Police have not released any details about the cars involved or the nature of the injuries. In a brief statement, a spokesman said: “Drivers are advised to avoid the area at this time or find an alternative route.

“The collision was reported at 11.12am on June 2 and the road is expected to be closed for several hours. Thank you for your patience.”
