The Manchester United-linked midfielder is speaking out as the club learn his asking price

Manchester United will prioritize strengthening their midfield department this summer as uncertainty grows over the future of Erik ten Hag’s current options.

Sofyan Amrabat will return to Fiorentina when his season-long loan expires and there are also question marks over Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.

A number of options have been suggested in the media, with familiar faces being linked with a move to Old Trafford. Juventus star Adrien Rabiot came close to joining the Reds two years ago and has been linked again this year.

Another Frenchman, Youssouf Fofana, is another player who has been linked with a move to United this year and the Monaco star has spoken out about his future, insisting an agreement is in place with his club.

“I talked about it with the hierarchy, it’s not a secret,” Said Fofana on the topic of leaving the club, according to GOAL.

“We had exchanges and they agreed to accompany me on this new stage. If (a move) doesn’t happen, I have one more year and I’ll happily stay.

“We agreed that we will accompany each other in this process where everyone should be a winner, be it me or the club.”

According to the report, Fofana, who has been named in France’s senior squad for this summer’s European Championship, is available for just £20m this summer as he has just one season left on his contract at Monaco.

It is likely that United will have to sell before they can invest heavily in the market this summer, but Fofana’s price tag could be too good to pass up.
