Man injured during attack in park

An investigation is underway after a man was injured in a city center park.

Police were called to Castle Park in Bristol at around 5.15pm BST on Saturday to reports of a man being assaulted.

The victim left the scene before police arrived and was later found in hospital with a thigh wound.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Enquiries, including reviewing CCTV in the area, are ongoing.”

The force was called to the park by the ambulance service, who explained they had received a call from a member of the public about a man who had been assaulted.

“Officers attended the scene and spoke to potential witnesses,” a police spokesman said.

They explained that the victim suffered a laceration to her thigh, which is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police.
